Scope of Work:
The infamous West LA Courthouse got a makeover in 2026 when California Skateparks teamed up with The Skatepark Project nonprofit organization to enhance this legendary skate spot. The location first caught the attention of skaters in the 1990s when several LA pros began filming tricks on the double-set stairs, ledges, and the waist-high stage in the building's courtyard. Having recently been designated a legal skate spot (thanks to the tireless advocacy of local skaters with help from The Skatepark Project), the West LA Courthouse was improved by the addition of three new rails, four ledges, and a Euro Gap centerpiece in the now-empty fountain—covering about 4,000 of the site's approximately 20,000 square feet of skateable space. This delicate renovation was co-designed, built, and installed by California Skateparks to enhance but not change the character of this historic location.
