Position Summary
We are hiring a skilled Skatepark Draftsman (CAD/CNC Specialist) to join our team in San Marcos, CA.
This role is focused on translating approved skatepark concepts and layouts into precise, production-ready technical drawings and CNC files. The Draftsman will support the design and construction teams by producing accurate CAD plans, fabrication documents, and machining files to ensure seamless manufacturing and installation.
This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Senior Vice President.
Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on approved skatepark designs and layouts

Draft construction-ready plans including:

Plan views

Elevations

Sections

Detail drawings

Assembly drawings

Prepare full construction document packages:

Blueprints

Specifications

Permit-ready drawings

Program and optimize CNC files for manufacturing skatepark components

Generate accurate toolpaths for CNC machines to support fabrication

Revise drawings based on internal reviews, engineering feedback, and field conditions

Coordinate closely with designers, engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy

Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and version control

Ensure documentation aligns with project budgets, material specifications, and fabrication constraints

Stay current with drafting standards, fabrication technologies, and CNC workflows
Qualifications
-
Proven experience in drafting and technical documentation (architecture, mechanical drafting, fabrication, or related fields)

Strong proficiency in:

CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)

SketchUp (for model reference and documentation)

Hands-on experience generating CNC programs and toolpaths (G-code via CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360)

Ability to create accurate, fabrication-ready construction documents

Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, and fabrication processes

Familiarity with skatepark components and construction methods preferred

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent) experience

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work full-time on-site in San Marcos, CA

Welder / Metal Fabricator
📍 Location: San Marcos, CA

Position Overview
California Skateparks is seeking a Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our fabrication team in San Marcos, CA. This role focuses on gas metal arc welding (MIG) and steel fabrication for skatepark construction projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in craftsmanship, and understands the importance of precision, safety, and teamwork in a fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) on carbon steel (HRS & CRS), ranging from 1/16” to 1/4” thickness.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using .030 and .035 filler wire.
• Fabricate steel components using bandsaw, cold saw, plasma cutter, or oxy-acetylene.
• Prepare materials by deburring, grinding, cleaning, and fitting prior to welding.
• Maintain accuracy regarding square, perpendicularity, parallelism, flatness, distortion, and tolerances.
• Use pneumatic, electric, and hand tools safely and correctly.
• Tap and chase threads, remove spatter, hone or ream parts before and after welding.
• Operate forklifts and lifting equipment to move or flip large parts.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Ask questions when needed and avoid proceeding without proper understanding.
• Assist with additional shop or construction tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
• Previous welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read basic shop drawings and understand fabrication tolerances.
• Familiarity with shop tools, grinders, drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform tasks outside of welding when needed.
• Must have own basic hand tools

Position Overview
California Skateparks is seeking a Media & Construction Assistant to document our projects from start to finish while also supporting our construction and warehouse teams. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable behind a camera, enjoys storytelling, and is willing to assist with hands-on construction work.
Key Responsibilities

Capture high-quality photos, videos, and time-lapse footage of jobsites and warehouse operations.

Conduct and record interviews with team members, skaters, and project stakeholders.

Organize and manage digital media files for marketing and internal use.

Assist with basic photo and video editing and content preparation.

Support construction crews as a general helper, including material handling and site cleanup.

Assist in the warehouse with organization, staging materials, and daily tasks.

Follow all jobsite and warehouse safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
