Since opening in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida in 2024, the massive Artist Walk Skatepark/JAX Skate Plaza at Riverside Park has been lit 24 hours per day and protected from sun and rain by the Fuller Warren Bridge. This groundbreaking skate plaza is free to the public, available rain or shine/day and night, and has become a must-ride attraction for skaters from around the world.
Designed and built by California Skateparks, the 30,000-sq-ft park takes advantage of the bridge overhead to provide shade in summer and cover during rain. Underneath, the long street plaza spreads a playful array of obstacles and giant JAX letters throughout the uncluttered space. Artist Walk Skatepark is the result of local skaters getting together back in 2013 and working with city leaders through the process of promoting the idea for a skatepark under the Fuller Warren Bridge until it was finally approved. Working with the California Skateparks design team, the skaters helped create the park's unique plaza design. Now, skaters and spectators, alike, can enjoy the space and appreciate the creative spirit it inspires.
